January’s We Care Gives Back donation was presented to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation’s Chemo Department.
Pictured at the presentation are Walker ClimateCare’s Bailey Morrissette, Kelsey Lindsay, the Development Coordinator at the Hospital and Walker ClimateCare’s HR Manager Ian Henderson.
We Care Gives back is a monthly program that donates to local charities and foundations within our communities.
Yesterday, our own Kate Bentley was in Alexandria presenting a cheque to the Friends of the Glengarry Trails Association's chairperson Helena McCuaig. This volunteer group works to maintain trails across the county to promote outdoor recreation, education and appreciation. You can learn more about this group and their work on their website here:
Earlier this week, we were very fortunate to attend the gathering of the local army cadets (squadron 2403 SD&G Highlanders RC Army CC) at the Cornwall Armoury.
We learned more about the foundational skills that both paid and volunteer military officers as well as civilians work to instill in this group of young folks. We are very proud to help support their good work with a monetary donation of over $2,100 on behalf of our WeCare Gives Back program.
The cadets are also a special cause to the Walker ClimateCare team as our Director of Operations is a former army cadet (Billy Bishop squadron 167), and seen in the picture is one of our junior technicians Riley Breckenridge who also has roots in the local cadet squads (grey polo).
The Walker team donated over $2100 to the St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre here in Cornwall. The donation was happily accepted by SJCCC's Community Engagement Officer Christie Hollingsworth and presented by our own manager Tom Rand.
If you haven't been by SJCCC lately, swing by their impressive facility at the base of York St. and you'll see a large renovation is underway to add a gym to facilitate rehabilitation. The monies donated will help defer the costs of that construction. If you'd like to learn more about the storied history of this facility - which recently celebrated its 125th anniversary - you can read more here: If you'd also like to donate, you can do so online here:
So proud to donate to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation through Corus Entertainment’s all day Caring Hearts Radiothon.
Pictured handing off the cheque is our very own Tom Rand to the CCHF’s Executive Director Amy Gillespie between boom’s radio celebrities Dan Allaire and Bill Hallman!
If you haven’t yet, please consider stopping by or calling in to donate towards this important cause!
Every month, Walker ClimateCare gives to a local charitable organization or cause as part of our commitment to being an upstanding citizen of the community. For June, we've supported the arts with a donation of nearly two thousand dollars to the Cornwall Concert Series. Pictured here receiving the cheque from our HR Manager Ian Henderson is the group's Chairman Scott Peterson.
The Cornwall Concert Series Association is a founding member of the Ontario Classical Music Network and has been working to enhance both access to and the quality of the arts and culture of our local community for over 38 years! You can learn more by visiting their website.
Our new head of membership Chantal is happy to be out in Akwesasne with our team member Amos in support of their local Family Wellness Program and Iethinisten:Ha shelter. Read more about the great work this local organization is doing, including efforts to help stop human trafficking. We're proud to help support such great causes and give back to our community!
We're passionate about giving back to the the communities we serve. Recently, our new head of membership - Chantal Vachon - attended the Sisters for Life gala in Finch to present a cheque from our WeCare Gives Back program. The money helped the fundraiser, which supports the Canadian Cancer Society, get ahead of its financial goal. We're so proud and pleased to be able to help!
Last week Sam Reda from the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy came to our office to accept this cheque from our WeCare Gives Back program. It was presented by our newest team member Ian Henderson who identified the OFCP as an organization that would benefit from our monthly charitable donation. We're so pleased to be able to help such a worthy cause! You can learn more about the OFCP's great work here www.ofcp.ca/about-the-ofcp.
It seems we got so busy in May with our 50th Anniversary Gala that we forgot to share the news of our charitable work in the community! Most importantly, we didn't forget to do it, though - we live our values and our mission and vision every day. Last month, we gave to the Tri-County Literacy Council. Pictured here is our general manager Khyle Taylor and the council's Dina McGowan accepting the cheque that helps fund both literacy and work readiness programs in our area.
Walker ClimateCare is proud to donate to a cause that helps improve the quality of life for our team members, our valued clients, and their families - it's our mission! We do this each month through our WeCare Gives Back Program. Yesterday our team members Brock McNish and Melanie Brunet were pleased to present March's donation to Julie who is a volunteer supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. — at Walker ClimateCare.
This month WeCare Gives Back is reaching beyond local borders to those in need in the Ukraine through the Canadian Red Cross. This donation is one we can all be proud of, but no one more so than the woman you see holding the cheque, our Financial Analyst Ivanna Demchuk, who hails from the Ukraine and whose parents are still there! 🇺🇦💙💛
We are so pleased to be able donate into our community on a regular basis through our WeCare Gives Back Program. On Tuesday, Tom Rand presented a cheque to Koala Place - Child and Youth Advocacy Centre; a safe space to help our community's youngest members who have been victimized. Their Executive Director, Chantal Prieur pictured here, spoke to the great work this organization is doing with partners like Cornwall Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service and Children's Aid Society of SD&G. We are confident the donation is going to great use under her watch directly towards helping those who need it most.
We’re so pleased to be able to give back to those in our community most in need by supporting the St. Denis Centre. Accepting the donation cheque are Addictions Counsellor Leslee Brown and Manager of Addiction Services Francine Fitzsimmons from our Service Technician Jayson Rump who is pictured beside Branch Manager Tom Rand.
Yesterday we made a donation to Carefor Hospice Cornwall in memoriam of our former team member and HVAC colleague Paul Cornelisse. The work that Hospice is doing is truly noble, and we’re humbled to help contribute a small amount. Our team members Kate and Elaine are pictured here giving the cheque to Sandy Colette.
Earlier this week our team was out to present a charitable donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall & District. Accepting the cheque are BB&BS’ Executive Director Ron Graham, Fundraising Coordinator Crystal Regnier and Mentorship Program Coordinator Amy Besner from Walker’s CSR Mitchel Gonsalves and Branch Manager Tom Rand. We are so pleased to be able to help great organizations like these in our community!
