Get up to $10,000 to replace your oil furnace with a heat pump!
Heating your home with oil is notoriously inefficient and expensive. Save up to $10,000 when you replace your oil furnace with an energy-efficient heat pump by qualifying for the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program!
The Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program is an extension of Natural Resources Canada’s Greener Homes Grant initiative to encourage homeowners to move away from environmentally unfriendly and costly oil heating systems. Qualified homeowners can receive up to $10,000 towards a new high-efficiency heat pump that can cool their home in the summer and heat it in the winter.
Why switch to a heat pump?
Lower Your Energy Bills
Heat pumps are powered by electricity and therefore are extremely efficient. Oil furnaces, however, vary widely in age and efficiency. It’s very common for older oil furnaces to have efficiencies as low as 50 - 60%. That’s to say that about 40 - 50% of the oil you’ve paid for and your furnace burns goes up the chimney and doesn’t provide any heat to your home. These costs are compounded by the federal Carbon Tax that adds even more expense to heating this way.
Improve our Environment
Since heat pumps are highly efficient electric systems they are significantly more environmentally friendly and cleaner than oil-burning systems.
Oil furnaces require a storage tank that takes up space usually in your yard or basement. Additionally, it can be inconvenient to organize oil deliveries, whereas a heat pump is connected to the electrical grid.
Take Advantage of Rebates
The Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program helps make transitioning away from oil a significantly more affordable option for qualifying Canadian homeowners by offering substantial rebates.
